John Dilworth

MERIGHI, Antonio Born 1756 Parma, died 1833 Milan Italy. Moved to Milan c.1803. Carried out a great deal of work for Count Cozio di Salabue up to 1810 and is known from the Count’s records to have been in possession of the great 1707 Stradivari cello ‘Countess of Stanlein’. His own work is in the style of Rocca, but rather coarsely finished with hard red varnish.
