MERZ, August Born 1851 Klingenthal, died 1910 Altenburg, Thuringia Germany. Nephew and pupil of Christian Merz, below. Worked in Leipzig for L. Bausch, and in Altenburg from c.1877 with premises on Pauritzer Gasse. Appointed luthier to the court 1884. Succeeded in business by Paul Hoyer.
