John Dilworth

MILLANT, Max Born 1903 Mirecourt, Worked from 1923 Paris France. Brother of Roger Millant, below. Grandson and pupil of S. A. Deroux. Also trained with L. Mougenot, Jacquet, and Gand in Mirecourt, and with Harry Dykes in London. Established in Paris with his brother Roger Millant, below, from 1923. Very refined maker on classical Italian models. Finely finished and with rich clear red-orange varnish. Quartet awarded first prize medal at the Cremona Exhibition 1949, and also exhibited at The Hague Competition in the same year.
