John Dilworth
MOYA, Hidalgo died 1927 Aylestone, Leicestershire UK. Trained in Mirecourt, France. Established in Aylestone from c.1890 until stricken with ill-health in 1920. Much of his work carried out by Albert Deblaye in Mirecourt. Fine craftsman. Two models exclusively: a 1715 Stradivari violin; (after 1915) the 1737 ‘Hart’ Guarneri del Gesù violin. Attentive and conscientious work. Author, with Towry Piper, of Violin Tone and Violin Makers (Chatto & Windus, London, 1916). Ad Modum Joseph Guarnerius I.H.S.
