William Edwin Nance

NANCE, William Edwin Born 1837 Padstow, Cornwall, from 1900 Penarth, Wales UK. Violinist and self-taught maker, active from c.1853. Later fully engaged as a coal merchant, but resumed making in Penarth, Wales c.1900. Untutored work on variable models with local materials. Completed about 100 instruments which were distributed amongst friends.
