NORRIS, Cary Earl Born 1863 Ashtabula, Ohio USA. Self-taught maker, active from 1880. Worked for McMillan & Son. Established independently in Zanesville 1884. Moved to Dresden, Ohio 1918, finally returning to Zanesville 1928. Stradivari and Guarneri models with golden-yellow or orange varnish. Copies of individual master instruments with shaded varnish. Chiefly occupied as a repairer. Cary E. Norris / Violin Maker and Repairer / Zanesville. Ohio. 1929
