Matthias Ostler – Violin maker from Mittenwald, Germany. He made violins in the late 20th century, with instruments dated from at least 1974 to 1983. Some of his work was done for the German stringed instrument company GEWA. One of his violins from 1983, for example, was crafted from “finest Bosnian tonewood” and hand-varnished by Bruno Franz Paulus.
