PICKARD, Handel (Andrew) Worked circa. 1856-1875 Leeds, Yorkshire UK. Probably a pupil or assistant of Dearlove. Assumed the name ‘Handel’ for business purposes, establishing a music shop at 127 Kirk Gate, Leeds. Violins, cellos, and basses known. Good workmanship and materials. Flat arch with good orange spirit varnish over stained wood. Branded on back: ‘H. Pickard, Leeds’ H. Pickard Leeds / May 1856 Handel Pickard Maker / Leeds. 1860 [Hill Archive]
