John Dilworth

PYNE, George Born 1852 Stepney, died 1921 West Ham, London UK. Violinist and self-taught maker. Worked for Edward Withers for 20 years. Credited with about 500 violins and violas on classical Cremonese models, some using imported parts. Very finely finished and accurate work. Used spirit varnish at first.
