REES, Evan Devereux Born 1845 Montgomery, Wales UK, d. after 1925 Christchurch New Zealand Emigrated to New Zealand 1858. Established in Christchurch as a boat builder. Active violin maker from 1888. Well-made Stradivari, Guarneri, and Maggini models with orange-red oil varnish. Also made guitars and mandolins. Made by / E. D. Rees / Christchurch N.Z. 1910
