John Dilworth

ROSENTHAL, Samuel Born 1891 Riga Latvia, died 1968 New York USA. Violin and bow maker. Son and pupil of Joseph Rosenthal from 1901. Emigrated to the USA 1906. Worked for Wurlitzer in Cincinnati as a repairer while making new instruments outside the shop. After military service in World War I established himself independently in New York 1918. Over 100 violins on Stradivari model with orange varnish, branded: ‘SNR’ [Wenberg]
