Schüler und Gehilfe seines Vaters Josef II. Sch., dessen Geschäft er schon 1882 übernahm. Er macht zwar Streichinstrumente nach allen gangbaren Modellen und verwendet Bernstein- und Spirituslack, hauptsächlich ist er jedoch Corpusmacher und als solcher geschätzt. Auch handelt er mit Geigenholz.
