SIMMONS, Derold Born 1915, Worked from 1938 Gaithersburg, Maryland, d. after 1977 Mesa, Arizona USA. Studied in Italy from c.1929. Returned to the USA 1938 and established a violin shop in Gaithersburg, Maryland c.1960, in association with Victor Litz. Sold his share and retired to Mesa 1977. More than 35 violins on the Stradivari 1704 ‘Betts’ violin model. Spirit or oil varnishes. Manuscript label. [Wenberg]
