TANGEL (TAENGEL, DENGEL), Johann (I) Born circa. 1667 Gdansk Poland, died 1757 Markneukirchen Germany. Master of the luthiers guild in Markneukirchen from 1701. Said to have introduced the varnishing procedure to Markneukirchen which was subsequently widely practiced there, and provided a basic foundation of the commercial manufacturing of instruments in the region.
