TAYLOR, William Worked circa. 1769-1820 London UK. Worked in Princes Street, Drury Lane, London. Possibly a pupil of Vincenzo Panormo. Stradivari model with very flat arch. Good professional workmanship but poor quality materials and thin red-brown spirit varnish. Chamfers of scroll blackened in the manner of Stradivari. Violins, violas, cellos, and double basses recorded. Some instruments branded below back button: ‘Wm. Taylor’ or ‘W.T.’ Gulielmus Taylor / fecit Londini, 1790 William Taylor / London 1806
