THOROWGOOD, Henry Worked circa. 1750-1765 London UK. Entrepreneurial dealer in trade work made by outworkers. Shop established at the sign of the ‘Violin & Guitar’ at the North Piazza, Royal Exchange. From c.1864 worked in partnership, the business known as Thorowgood & Horne and relocated to Cheapside. Typical London Stainer copies with painted purfling and red spirit varnish. His label found in the works of various makers including those by Richard Duke.
