TIEDEMANN, Jakob Born 1879 Altenbruch Germany. Self-taught maker. Stradivari, Guarneri, and personal models. Several copies of the Guarneri del Gesù ‘Cannone’ violin of 1743 owned by Paganini. Golden- to red-brown oil varnish. Over 200 violins and cellos completed in various grades from ‘orchestral’ to ‘artist’. Awarded state prize in Berlin 1922. Branded internally.
