John Dilworth
TORR, Ernest Born 1871, d. after 1927 Liverpool UK. Self-taught maker from 1903. Worked for G. Byrom in Liverpool 1920-1921. Completed over 100 violins, seven violas, and five cellos on Guarneri, Stradivari, and personal models. Varnish of orange and red-brown colour. Some with antique shaded finish.
