TRUETSCHLER (TRUTZSCHLER), Fritz Born 1901 Markneukirchen Germany, died 1962 Chicago, Illinois USA. Pupil of Dürrschmidt. Employed by Otto Möckel and Anton Pilar in Berlin. Emigrated to the USA 1928 and worked for William Lewis in Chicago Illinois. Established independently in South Wabash Avenue, Chicago 1952. Joined by Eric Prager 1958, the company thereafter known as Truetschler & Prager, Inc. Subsequently with Wolfgang B. Ritter. Makers, repairers, retailers and dealers. Around 200 instruments completed. Stradivari model with golden-yellow varnish, mostly made in Germany for the company.
