Johann Georg (I) Born 1748, died 1802. Son and pupil of Adam Voigt (II), above. Entered the corporation of luthiers 1769. One of the best makers of the family. Flat-arched model. Plain materials and brown varnish. Branded: ‘I.G.V.’ Johann Georg Voigt / Brobe Violinmacher in Neu- / kircher bei Adorf in Voigtlande.
