WALLER, Alfred Born 1891 Grant County, Minnesota, died 1977 Portland, Oregon USA. Violin and bow maker, active in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Employed by Blakkestad Music Co. from 1921, working under Mathias Dahl. Established independently 1932. Worked for Paul Schmitt Music Co. 1940-1954. Retired to Portland 1956. Stradivari and Guarneri models. About 175 violins and violas produced, with commercial varnish in shaded red colours. About 25 bows, branded: A. WALLER
