John Dilworth

ZANI, Francesco Worked circa. 1722-1765 Reggio Emilia Italy. Unsophisticated work, but very characteristically Italian and admirable. Outline not well governed. Pale hard yellow varnish. High rounded arching with obvious Stainer influence. Short open soundholes. Scroll with tapering volutes from front and back view, in the manner of Grancino. Extended last turn to the eye and rather squared-off chin. Plain materials.
