Biographies
John Dilworth
ULLMANN, Georg Born 1879 Bad-Elster, died 1946 Zurich Switzerland. Trained in Markneukirchen with E. R. Schmidt. Worked for Kurth and Möckel in Berlin, Dvorak in Prague, and Degani in Venice. Established independently in Milan from 1903 and worked for the conservatoire there, while maintaining his influence with the Dvorak company. Moved to Turin 1919 and finally to Zurich 1921. Stradivari-derived models. Fine craftsmanship. Pale golden-brown to red varnish, slightly opaque. Georgius Ullmann / fecit Mediolani 1905 Georgius Ullmannius / fecit Turicum 1920
