ZWERGER, Anton (II) Worked circa. 1785-1830 Salzburg Austria & Passau Germany. Active in Salzburg 1804. Hamma illustrates a fine piccolo violin dated 1810 in Passau. Typical Mittenwald work on Klotz model. Medium high arch and thin red-brown varnish. Very neat and well regulated work. Some instruments branded: ‘AZ’ Anton Zwerger kurfürst: Hof und burgl: / Geigenmacher in Salzburg. 1804.
