Maker Overview
Life
German bow-making workshop founded in 1996 by Richard Grünke and his sons Klaus and Thomas Grünke in Langensendelbach, near Bubenreuth. Descended from the Markneukirchen bow-making tradition, the workshop produces fine violin, viola and cello bows inspired by the great French makers, including Tourte, Peccatte, Voirin and Sartory. Richard Grünke established his reputation through his work with Pfretzschner and Paesold before founding his own workshop in 1975.
