John Dilworth
MÄCHLER, Carl (I) Born 1902 Mannheim Germany & Zurich Switzerland. Studied at the Mittenwald school. Worked for Winterling in Hamburg, Kreiling in Munich, Niedt in Würzburg, Held in Cologne, Otto in Düsseldorf, Kessler in Mannheim, Wahl in Karlsruhe, and finally for Züst in Zurich. Entered a Guadagnini copy in the Cremona exhibition 1949. Highly regarded as a repairer and restorer. [Boltshauser]
