ADAM, Jean (II) Born 1823, died 1869 Mirecourt France. Bow maker. Known as ‘Grand Adam’. Son and pupil of Jean Dominique. Worked for J. B. Vuillaume in Paris 1842-1853 where he came under the influence of C. J. Fonclause and made classical Tourte models. Returned to Mirecourt where he produced very fine bows in his own workshop.
