Audinot-Mourot

Mirecourt, Paris

Audinot-Mourot – French violin-making workshop founded by Charles Audinot (1842–1908) in Mirecourt, later continued by his family and connected to the Mourot family through succession. Charles Audinot, originally from Mirecourt, trained under Sébastien Vuillaume in Paris before returning to Mirecourt to establish his own workshop in 1863. His work was influenced by the Vuillaume school, producing violins, violas, and cellos noted for their fine craftsmanship and clear tone. After his death, the business passed to his son and then into the hands of the Mourot family, continuing the Mirecourt violin-making tradition under the name Audinot-Mourot well into the 20th century.
