John Dilworth
DIEHL, August Born 1852 Darmstadt, died 1922 Hamburg Germany. Son and pupil of Friedrich Diehl, below. Worked in Hamburg from 1875. Gold medal at St. Louis Exhibition, USA. Copies of classical instruments and own personal models, with good quality varnish, some with carved heads and other decoration. Im Jahre 1892 / August Diehl / Hamburg August Diehl / me fecit Hamburg / Anno 1911 Also a bow maker, with an original design featuring a rather straight stick and modified head.
