John Dilworth
GAULT, Willis M. Born 1908 Showell, Maryland USA, Worked from c.1928 Pupil of David Struble. Founded the Gault School for the Professional Making and Appreciation of Bowed Instruments in 1950. Stradivari and Guarneri model; good workmanship. Oil varnish of various shades. Over 600 instruments: all the violin family members and various plucked and historical instruments. Made bows on the Tourte model, branded: GAULT Willis M.Gault / Maker and Repairer / Fecit Anno .. [Wenberg]
