MARQUARDT, Rudolf Born 1864, d. after 1896 Szczecin (Stettin) Poland. Violinist; violin maker from 1887. Trained with Adolf Pfretzschner and subsequently worked in various places in Germany and South America before returning to Szczecin 1896. 30 violins, seven violas, and three cellos recorded. Made on Stradivari and Guarneri models with own red and yellow oil varnish Rudolf Marquardt / Geigenbauer / Stettin / Gebaut. Anno 1923
