Mathias (II) Born 1762, died 1832. Son of Johann Neuner, above. Used the spelling ‘Neiner’ on early labels. Prolific maker. Exported his work throughout Europe and employed many craftsmen. The name continued in use long after his death. Well-crafted work on his own Stainer-derived model; quite high-arched, but with opaque orange or red-brown varnish and crackled texture. Characteristic extended tail to the eye of the volute. Vielleicht ein Sohn von Mathias I., dessen Zettel er auch verwendet. (Die
gedruckte No. 94 ist die Hausnummer und nicht die Nummer seiner Arbeit.) Er war Theilhaber der Firma Neuner & Hornsteiner und auch Bürgermeister
von Mittenwald.
