Francois Peccatte
Mirecourt, 1821–1855
Francois Peccatte (1821-1855) was a French bow maker, younger brother of Dominique Peccatte. He trained in Mirecourt, worked briefly in Paris with his brother and possibly J. R. Lafleur, before returning to Mirecourt to establish his own workshop employing 8-10 craftsmen. He later worked for J. B. Vuillaume in Paris (1852-1853) and was strongly influenced by his brother. His bows featured round sticks and were branded "PECCATTE".

Life
Francois Peccatte (1821-1855) was born in 1821 and died in 1855 in Mirecourt, France. He was the younger brother of Dominique Peccatte. Francois Peccatte trained in Mirecourt but joined his brother in Paris around 1840-1842. He may have worked briefly for J. R. Lafleur before returning to Mirecourt in 1842. In Mirecourt, he established a thriving workshop that employed 8-10 craftsmen. His business continued even while he briefly returned to Paris to work for J. B. Vuillaume from 1852 to 1853.
