Biographies
John Dilworth
WERRO, Henry Jean Born 1930 Berne Switzerland. Second son of Henry Werro. Studied with G. Apparut, Mirecourt, where he showed great talent. Finished apprenticeship in Switzerland with high marks. Not many new instruments being mostly occupied with repairs. Viola won prize at the Stradivari Memorial Exhibition in Cremona 1949. Exhibited in Mittenwald 1953 and received a diploma of merit. Gained experience in Paris before rejoining family firm in Berne 1951. He closed the business in 1997 and retired from any violin making activities in 2002.
