John Dilworth
BOURGEOIS, Séraphin Born 1798 Chatel-Blanc, Jura, died 1885 Lons-le-Saunier France. Established in la Grand’Rue, Geneva from 1823, and from 1865 in Châlon-sur-Saône. Stradivari-, but more commonly, Guarneri-derived models, slightly over-sized with ‘antique’ shaded alcohol varnish, decent workmanship, and excellent materials. Branded on back: ‘Z.Bourgeois’.
