John Dilworth
FRANZE, Hans Born 1890 Leipzig Germany, died 1950 Basel Switzerland. Trained with M. Schmidt in Marneukirchen. Worked for Ackermann & Lesser and H. Schlesinger in Dresden, Kessler in Würzburg, E. Helt in Cologne, E. Gartner in Stuttgart, and P. Meinel in Basel. Chief repairer and maker for Hug & Co. in Basel from 1920. Fine work modelled on a 1714 Stradivari violin. H.
