Emile Boulangeot

Asnieres, Lyon, 1877–1944

Apprenticed to E. Laurent 1890. Later worked for Gustave Bernardel in Paris from 1893, and for Caressa and Français until 1909. From 1913 he took over the shop of Blanchard in Lyons, succeeding to his appointment to the Lyons Conservatoire. — John Dilworth

John Dilworth+

BOULANGEOT, Émile Born 1877, died 1944 Asnières France. Apprenticed to E. Laurent 1890. Later worked for Gustave Bernardel in Paris from 1893, and for Caressa and Français until 1909. From 1913 he took over the shop of Blanchard in Lyons, succeeding to his appointment to the Lyons Conservatoire. Retired to Asnières 1928, passing the Lyons business to Georges Coue. Produced some 175 violins, seven violas, and 28 cellos. Personal model of fine professional workmanship. Orange-red varnish.
