Self-taught, influenced by C. Candi. Active violin maker from c.1910, but occupied with family business in West Africa c.1930. Worked in Milan 1940-1953. Medals awarded at Cremona 1949 and Rome 1952. Copies of Stradivari, Pressenda, and Candi with thin red varnish; fine work. — John Dilworth
