DITER, Paul François Born 1879 Mirecourt, died 1942 La Pen sur Huveaune France. Bow maker. Brother of J. V. Diter, above. Pupil of Charles Bazin for bow-making. Worked with his brother in Marseilles from 1901 as ‘Diter Frères’. From about 1920 the brothers concentrated on violin work, and Justin left, to be replaced by P. Lorange. The company was then known as ‘Diter & Lorange’. Paul François retired in 1933, leaving the business to Lorange. Known work in the style of C. N. Bazin. [Millant/Raffin]
