GIRARDI, Mario Born 1894 Vicenza, died 1961 Trieste Italy. Pupil of Sgarabotto. Worked in Milan from 1920 and from 1930 in Trieste. Exhibited in Cremona 1937. Early work carries a fine golden red-brown varnish, which declined in quality in later years. Broad purfling. Some instruments ‘antiqued’ and given fictitious labels. Branded externally.
