John Dilworth

JEANDEL, Pierre Napoléon Born 1810 Courcelles-sous-Vaudemont, died 1878 Rouen France. Pupil of Charotte in Mirecourt from 1830, moved to Rouen 1835 to work with Joseph Charotte, succeeding to his business 1848 in partnership with Lucien Delau. The shop subsequently moved from 36 Beauvoisine to 51 quai de Paris. Awards at Rouen and Paris expositions. Large flat-arched Mirecourt model with heavy red-brown varnish over yellow ground. Signed internally: ‘Jeandel’
