John Dilworth

MICHETTI, Plinio Born 1891 Calizzano, Savona, died 1991 Turin Italy. Pupil of E. Peluzzi in Genoa; possibly also acquainted with Candi and De Barbieri. Established in Turin c.1920, working for Morutto, a musical instrument dealer. Later opened his own business in the Corso Lecce. Awarded medals in Turin 1928 and Cremona 1949. Influenced by Oddone and Fagnola. Classical Cremonese models. Well-finished with fine yellow and golden-brown oil varnish. Over 300 violins completed.
