Jules Born 1813, died 1876 Paris. Son and pupil of Jean Mathurin Remy, above. Established in Passage Brady 1854 and 60 Faubourg Saint-Denis from 1872. Chiefly occupied with plucked instruments and pochettes. Some Mirecourt-stye violins branded: ‘In Urbe Cremoniae Remy’

Willibald Leo Lütgendorff+

Sohn und Schüler von Jean Mathurin R., dessen Geschäft er fortsetzte und aus der Passage Brady um 1872 in die Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis Nr. 60 verlegte. Er machte aus Liebhaberei viele Taschengeigen, die seinen Namen eingebrannt zeigen; auch verwandelte er gerne alte Leiern (Viellen) in eigenartige Lauten und Theorben, die von Nichtkennern gerne gekauft wurden. Aus Liebhaberei beschäftigte er sich ferner auch mit der Anfertigung von Oboen.
