Willibald Leo Lütgendorff+

Er soll eine Zeit lang in Paris gearbeitet haben und eröffnete 1836 in Mirecourt seine Werkstatt. Seine Arbeit erinnert an Chappuy; nur ist sein Lack noch schlechter. Sein Modell dagegen wird, wenn auch ohne ersichtlichen Grund, heute noch nachgeahmt. Auch sein Vater dürfte schon Geigenmacher gewesen sein, und diesem müssten die mittelmässigen Geigen, die im Innern einen Brandstempel: »D. Salzar« tragen, zugeschrieben werden. (Der Buchstabe 1 dieses Stempels scheint verletzt gewesen zu sein, so dass man beinahe »Saizar« lesen könnte).
