Johann Georg VOGLER (1692-after 1751) was a German luthier, violinist, and cellist who served in the Würzburg court orchestra and was appointed Hof-Geigenmacher.Trained in Füssen, he produced instruments on large forms, often following a high-arched Stainer model with a thin dark red-brown varnish, known for their fine finish.He was the father of the celebrated composer Abbé Georg Joseph Vogler.

Willibald Leo Lütgendorff+
Zweiter Sohn des Müllers Marquard V. Er kam in das nahegelegene Füssen zu einem der besten Geigenmacher in die Lehre und erlernte dort ausser dem Geigenmachen auch das Geigen- und Violoncellospiel so gut, dass er als Musiker und Geigenmacher in die fürstbischöfl. Capelle in Würzburg eintreten konnte und Hof-Geigenmacher wurde. Er wohnte in der Vorstadt Pleichach; das jüngste von seinen neun Kindern war der nachmals so berühmte Abbé Vogler (geb. 1749, †1814). Joh. G. V.’s Geigen sind von guter Arbeit, wenn auch manchmal plump in der Form. Eine Arbeit von ihm aus dem Jahre 1745 besitzt das Darmstädter Museum (Inv. 1857/98 No. 22).
