WAGNER, Henri Born 1879, d. after 1925 Paris France. Distinguished violinist. Established as a luthier in the rue de Rome, Paris from 1914. Later moved to rue de la Tour d’Auvergne. Awarded silver medal at Brussels 1910. Many experiments on the subject of varnish: one of the many making the claim to have discovered the ‘secret of Stradivarius’. Worked in association with François Delprato from 1925, after which all instruments are signed ‘Wagner and Delprato’.
