John Dilworth

PAQUOTTE, Jean Baptiste Born 1827 Mirecourt, died 1900 Paris France. Nephew of Sébastien Paquotte, below. Apprenticed to Simon as a bow maker. Later studied violin making with Sébastian in Paris 1841-1849. Worked for Lafleur until 1863 when he succeeded to his uncle’s business at rue de l’Ecole-de-Medecine, Paris. Moved to 99 boulevard St-Germain 1877 and retired in 1879. Highly regarded as a connoisseur. His own violins and bows are of high quality, using fine materials.
