Maker Overview

Louis Bazin (Charles Louis Bazin, 1881–1953) was a prominent French bow maker from Mirecourt. He trained under his father, Charles Nicolas Bazin, and took over the family workshop in 1907. His bows—stamped “Louis Bazin”—feature round pernambuco sticks and are known for their strength, balance, and refined craftsmanship. He supplied many Parisian firms and worked with his son, Charles Alfred Bazin, from 1922 until retiring in 1952. His best bows are considered among the finest of the Bazin family output.
