He was the son and assistant of Charles Jean-Baptiste Collin.
He traveled widely and stayed in America before returning to Mirecourt in 1900.
His business continued after his death under Jean Larcher and his son Charles Jean-Baptiste Collin-Mezin (III), who was born in 1910.
