Trained in the traditional Mirecourt school, he produced violins, violas, and cellos that followed classic French patterns influenced by Stradivari and Vuillaume. His instruments are known for their solid construction, tonal clarity, and attention to craftsmanship. Mangenot’s work contributed to the rich tradition of 19th-century French violin making in Mirecourt, a major center of luthiery.
